Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Job Overview 

Scope of Work: 

• You will join our team of experienced Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Critical Care Specialists and Cardiovascular Technologists; 

• You will be primarily responsible for enhancing the Clinical Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology programs; 

• You will undertake outpatient consultative practice, perform and interpret cardiovascular diagnostic studies including Echo, Stress Test, Holter, and ECG, and perform interventional cardiology procedures; 

• You will contribute to telemetry services and the the client satellite outpatient locations on a weekly/biweekly basis as required; 

• You will be expected to admit and manage patients at the client Heart Hospital CCU;  

• You will be expected to contribute to the emergency on-call rota. Calls can be taken from home but response to acute coronary syndrome is expected within 30 minutes; and 

• You will have the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research in collaboration with Yale University. 

Qualifications and Experience:

• English fluency is non-negotiable 

• You will have completed your specialized training in interventional cardiology, proven by a Certificate of Completion of Training or equivalent 

• You will hold a specialist registration status from an established medical board 

• You will have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in interventional cardiology. This is counted after gaining board certification/specialist registration. 

• You enjoy providing personalized and holistic care to individual patients and are highly skilled in effective patient-doctor communication 

• You appreciate having enough time to care for individual patients instead of rushing through waves of them, and you are willing to invest the time and energy on building good relationships with your patients as their care provider 

Position Details:

• Full-time, 30-month contract subject to renewal by mutual consent 

• Based in the main hospital in Jamaica 

• Starting date is as soon as possible 

Salary:

USD 110,000 – 140,000 per annum gross depending on experience, paid in local currency
